Gaming Industry Resources
I was sent these links by a former student for those interested in one day being a part of the gaming industry> Enjoy. (Thanks, Alex!)
http://www.gamasutra.com/ - News about anything relating to video games (Including news on jobs from game companies!).
http://www.gamesjobsdirect.com/ - Job searching site. Poke around and learn about the variety of different positions game companies are looking for.
http://www.audiogang.org/ - The Game Audio Network Guild. A community that provides info and resources to educate those interested in game audio.
If you are interested in making your own games:
http://www.makeflashgames.com/ - Learn how to make games in Flash! A great place to start your game developing dream. Learn the basics of Javascript and even apply what you learn into animating!
http://www.newgrounds.com/collab - Want to put your skills to work? Need someone to help you out? Use Newgrounds' collab page to find others that want to work together with you, whether it being music, voice overs, animating, programming, etc. (Music on Newgrounds is also under Creative Commons!)
